This is a home for orphaned and abandoned children in a hill tribe community located in the mountains between Tak and Mae Sot, Thailand.
There are 36 children and 4 full-time adult supervisors along with a helping community.
At the moment this home is still dependent on external support. However, between growing and raising food, and the truck we bought for them in 2010 which they use for a transport business the amount of support they need has gone down from $3000US/month to $1400/month.
As of October 2011 we now own 2 plots of land, one on which to build an orphanage and biointensive farm, and the other a fish pond for fish production and hydroponic development.
The home continues to innovate and implement business ideas as time goes by.
This home has begun to grow coffee on their land. We have secured a market for the product once it is mature. The proceeds from this cash crop should be enough to bring the home into complete financial independance by the end of 2013.
