We’re pleased to welcome the Lovan family to Charis Thailand.
Nicole will be working on a community based child care project which trains potential child care givers on how to teach children through play. This includes physical development, language development, social & emotional development and cognitive skills.
She will train women in the villages to run their own day cares. This helps those women create income, while freeing older children to go to school and get an education instead of staying home to take care of younger siblings. It also allows mothers to go to work while a trusted and trained individual person is caring for their children.
Justin has several projects, including a community garden and chicken coup located on our property at their home. The crops grown and eggs laid are handed out to local villages. Some locals will even come and pick what they may need for their family. Others will come by for a tour and learn about farming and raising chickens a healthy way. Justin also has other projects in Myanmar with Global Catalytic Network. (globalcatalytic.org
